In the Present Tense

a Critical Look at our Immediate Culture

About

with 2 comments

In the Present Tense was started by the artist Vincent Como as a writing outlet and is meant to serve the purpose of examining the culture in which we live and provide a very subjective and very personal critical response to what is happening around us in the arts.

The overall interest and focus is on that which is actively happening right now, or has been overlooked for far too long with a predominant emphasis on young or underrepresented artists, spaces, curators and projects.  You may keep us in the know at: present.tense.criticism(at)gmail(dot)com

Enjoy!

    • Thanks, I really enjoy writing and grappling with an exhibition/subject, but as I’m sure you can see, this has been kind of stagnating a bit. I was excited for a new Fall season last year, but Hurricane Sandy threw a wrench in the regularity of my viewing habits, and I also started TSA gallery in bushwick with a group of other artists, so it had become more challenging to keep up with. I’m not there just yet, but this project is going to evolve into something else, which I’ve been working toward for next year. Stay tuned.
